More evidence that it’s good to be a PA: A new survey finds medical groups and healthcare organizations plan to boost hiring and pay for PAs and NPs over the next year.
Here are the topline numbers:
- 63 percent of those surveyed increased their advanced practice clinician (APC) workforce by 17 percent during the past year.
- 53 percent of participants plan to hire 15 percent more APCs within the next year.
- Among the 135 respondents who answered compensation questions, 62 percent increased APC compensation over the past 12 months.
- 54 percent of participants who addressed compensation plan to pay APCs a median of 3 percent more in the next 12 months.
“These findings provide hard data to bolster anecdotal evidence regarding this trend in healthcare practice,” said American Medical Group President and Chief Executive Officer Donald W. Fisher, Ph.D., CAE, whose organization co-authored the survey with Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc. “For years, we have seen the movement towards a more team-based, coordinated approach to patient care.”
