PA Lends a Hand for Sandy Victims

Steve Martin, a PA in Tampa, Fla., was part of a Disaster Medical Assistance Team that traveled to Long Beach, New York two weeks after Superstorm Sandy. The federal team of 50 doctors, PAs, pharmacists, nurses and paramedics set up a makeshift hospital on a soccer field and took the place of the local hospital, which was damaged during the hurricane. Martin worked 12 hours a day in an area without electricity or running water.
