PA Attending State of the Union Address

Amanda Shelley, MPAS, PA-CAmanda Shelley, MPAS, PA-C, of Gilbert, Ariz., will sit in the presidential box along with first lady Michelle Obama during tonight’s annual State of the Union address.

Just weeks ago, she applied for healthcare insurance under the Affordable Care Act and was soon hospitalized and required gallbladder removal surgery. Shelley’s story was recently featured on NPR.

Shelley graduated from the Arizona School of Health Sciences and practices as part of a mobile health unit. Her primary specialty is geriatrics, and she is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
