Earlier this month, Jacqueline Cristini, PA, MMSc, was named Outstanding Humanitarian Physician Assistant of the Year by the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants. The award recognizes PAs who show an outstanding commitment to community service.
Cristini has worked as a PA at the JFK Neuroscience Institute in Edison, N.J., since 2007. She encourages other PAs and healthcare providers to participate in various activities to promote the awareness of Parkinson’s disease. She is also involved in all aspects of the Institute’s Deep Brain Stimulation Program, including pre-operative patient selection, medication management, intraoperative care and post-operative programming. She educates patients, families, students and clinicians about deep brain stimulation and sees patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
