Theresa Shelton, a PA at Texan Allergy, explains how allergy testing works in an Aug. 28 article for the Austin American-Statesman.
The testing involves placing small amounts of sample allergen in the patient’s skin and measuring the response. Shelton says the testing allows providers to “find the specific things that might trigger your symptoms. It also gives us information regarding the severity of each allergy.”
