HEALTHeCAREERS Network (HeCN), a healthcare jobs site, released its second-quarter 2013 Healthcare Jobs Snapshot on July 24.
Second-quarter data revealed an increased demand for mental health workers, including counseling and social services professionals, psychiatrists, psychiatry/mental health RNs, psychologists and psychometrists. Also high in demand, physician/surgeon and nursing positions accounted for 49 percent and 29 percent of jobs posted in the second quarter.
“What’s exciting is that several healthcare areas saw increases in job postings from last quarter to Q2,” said Tricia Pattee, HEALTHeCAREERS Network product director. “Physician/surgeon, counseling and social services, and physician assistant postings all increased this quarter.”
This quarter, more than 3,000 employers posted a total of 43,271 available jobs on HEALTHeCAREERS Network, a 3 percent increase over the first quarter.
